Commemorating my birthday of 2007

Many times, people define birthday presents as gifts received on that particular day of birthday. But i feel that birthday gift is the accumulation of everything that happened in the past year. This is in sync with what my cell leader, Jo chua, once said, "Making someone feel special is not what you do on a special day but the little things you do everyday for that person." Every year, the state of deora and who deora is gets better than the previous. Every year, i see a leap in faith and growth in some areas. This is the fulfillment of the promise, "The days of the righteous gets brighter."

Commemorating my bday this year:
1) Never felt closer to jesus
2) Stepping into my vocation
3) Great Boss, colleague and working environment in ServiceWorks
4) Great cell leader and cell group!
5) Alot more new and quality friendships forged.

Of course there are some wishes not fulfilled. But nevertheless my God is GREAT! I have learnt how to take No as an answer and that NO probably is the best gift HE has for me!

"Why did God insist in using Jonah?"

"Today, if you her the voice of the Lord, do not harden your heart".
This scripture tells us that if we do not respond to the voice of God, there may come a day where you will not hear His voice anymore.

I remembered in my bible school year, Pst Ulf once gave an altar call for those called into full time ministry. He said, "if you know that is you, stand up right now. Nobody needs to close their eyes because when jesus called Peter and his disciples, he did it in the presence of all. This will be the last time God is calling you."

God will keep nudging your heart. But there will come a time when he will call you one last time. But when i looked at Jonah, i marvel a why God insist on using him and not someone else. God could have easily given someone else the message but He insist on using Jonah. WHY?? i am still searching for an answer.

THE PLEDGE OF MY HEART.

The bible says, "iron sharpens iron." BUt how do you know if you are rubbing against iron or wood? It may look like iron but the quality differs. I guess the only way is to check your heart and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The best thing about working is knowing that you are in the centre of God's will and touching the marketplace for him. However, the battle field is everywhere. Probably, the greatest devil i ever fought against is the one that resides in me.

Nonetheless, i thank God that He still loves me for who i am and his grace is sufficiently for me to change. While my circumstance has changed, my heart will not. The cry for God will overshadows all the cries of the world. I WILL REMEMBER THE MIGHTY ARMS OF THE LORD who delivered me from the bondage of Egypt. I WILL REMEMBER THE DAYS IN THE WILDERNESS where i am consecrated to him. As i scale higher with Jesus, my heart will remain pure like the dove and wholehearted like David. Solomon's wisdom is incomparable to the heart of David. But the Lord said, be as wise as serpent and as pure as dove. Show wisdom in doing good.
